Description
General Biology 2 Lab Manual is specifically designed as a for the second semester of a two semester general biology sequence. It features the following to help each student get the most out of the lab class:
• LAB ACTIVITIES: Each chapter has clearly written lab activities, including step by step instructions, diagrams, photos, and background content needed to assist students in fully understanding the concepts explored in lab without an accompanying lecture course.
• RELEVANCE: Activities encourage hands-on exploration and active learning, and link the lab content to life “outside the lab.” Activities include: the scientific process, cell structure and function, genetics, genetic drift, DNA, and cell division.
• FULL COLOR ART: The book is loaded with full-color artwork in all chapters.
• REVIEW ACTIVITIES: Each chapter includes integrated tear-out review pages to assist students in reviewing and understanding concepts following lab.
• UNIQUE: A unique aspect to this lab manual is the integration of “Lab and Your Life” and personal stories in each chapter, which apply content under study to “real-life” situations. These sections often provide the answers to the “So What?, Who Cares?, or Why is this important?” questions that students often ask when learning the concepts and details of biology.
